Haute-couture made out of worms Tout est grâce, everything is beauty, everything is elegance. This naïve statement was the starting point of this artwork, Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia is a haute couture item made of worms. Shimmering like gold, these filthy animals become a symbol of exclusivity. Haute-couture in fact is no more than the name given to an object. The brand, the notoriety, the facade. Cassiopeia unmasks this untouchable aura of exclusivity that the rich and famous try to buy. Can we consume beauty, exclusivity and elegance? Or are these properties that lie within our personalities?
